What Tornado version? 1.0e seems to run fine on CVS. Is the screen that way always or does it become messed up part way through the game?

I always thought actual anti-aliasing might improve things. There's a couple "anti-aliasing" pixel shader scalers but they look like the same output from eagle/sai/hqx/etc.

Yeah, the K6-III is beat for its time period by the PIIIs released during the same time, and only had a four month window before the Athlon arrived, which became the CPU performance king. Attached is what I have so far of the pc timeline I've been piecing together.

Does anyone know what card/chip the original super vga driver is written for? Ah, et4000 is one. No joy for et3k or paradise, and of course, not s3.

These batch files aren't as complicated as you're thinking. There's only one value for each CPU generation, and what's shown in the box is just info. Estimated dosbox cycles equating to 1 xt/at/386/etc MHz is multiplied by the default, or whatever value you pass on the command line, which can be any …

That means the executable you tried to run is for windows. That leaves checking to being sure the version you have runs in DOS and finding the DOS executable/game instructions on running from DOS.

I don't know what's going on with your setup, but one issue is this: A core 2 duo e8300(2.833 GHz) set to dynamic core, max cycles, only runs windows 3.11 equivalent to a pentium ~@ 100 MHz(boots in less than a second.) You mean other than the non intel, overdrive, and mobile versions. You may be right about 83 Mhz 486, I'm not finding what led me to including that. Actually more could be added, 486 40, 80, & 90, pentium 63, 125 & 180 mhz overdrive. Something I think would be good to check; speedys in the big top …

The patch is updated speedyj. "patch -p0 < set6.diff" from the dosbox source directory to apply. If you're compiling from Linux you'll just need to grab the source, from windows you'll need to setup msys first.

Updated patch to current CVS. Also requires the updated batch files, as dosbox batch handling has changed(if var1 == var2 now needs to be if "var1" == "var2".) Fixed a bug that broke empty checks(stripping = at the start of the if cmd the culprit.) I'm surprised this wasn't caught earlier since …

Yep, tried skill level 2, at 278 cycles it was running normal, albeit a little more briskly. If skill level 2 is too fast, try "underclocking," set to half, 139 cycles or 2/3, 183. etc.

It runs synced and discernibly correctly at 278 cycles. At 4000 it's way too fast, SpeedyJ must have speedy reflexes. Ah, I only watched the intro and demo mode, both of which run at discernibly correct speed. Actual game play it slows way down.

It's been awhile since I've messed with the patch, it needs an update to work with current cvs. In the meantime you can do as I describe on the forth page of that thread on making static batch files.
