it might work on 98 with kernelex maybe. It definitely won't work on win95 though, it links to a d3d9 dll. Also the engine itself can get along with Techland's MiniGLs last time I checked. 😀

to be fair, the steam version of half-life has never ever supported any MiniGL drivers, and would probably consider it as a cheat if you tried one online. and i wouldn't bother with anything newer than 1.1.0.x retail anyway since the steam version also axes a couple renderer-related features

on a related note lol don't get me started on "vaporwave" and all these strange obsessions for wireframes and neon colors due to "babby's first 80s references" games coming out recently (blood dragon, hotline, ddragon neon etc). I'm not much of a fan of bands naming themselves after video game …

because the dithering is part of the blending functions on rage128. The driver should let you switch the pattern to an ordered dither IIRC (or was that Radeon7x00?

These animations are probably as ubiquitous as Sound Ideas and are similarily licensed. It had a name, and I remember a magazine ad for this but can't place my finger on it

IIRC for the Rage128, the paletted texture option is emulation and isn't real paletted texturing. (and remember, do not forget r_primitves 2 in Q3, and "use opengl display lists" in the latest MDK2 version for that boost)

unexpected motherboard chipset failures/quirks that get in the way of basic file transfer and peripheral usage, but that's less of a "retro rig" and more of a "budget" problem of building a computer in the day
