MURI seems exploitative on fauxstalgic target audience (reminiscing the 90's yet not remembering 9/11) than anything else. I was glad we moved on from choppy tiled platformers like Nukum and Captain Comic so it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

You can also get hardware-accelerated graphics in XP on VirtualBox, however timing and input issues exist for that as well - especially mouse snapping..... and that's still not Win9x gaming. There was an old post claiming how wrong I was for Win9x not supported in VirtualBox by bringing up XP stuff …

I don't think any VM software is a good solution for Windows 9x gaming at this point. PCem is maturing and great for the 486 level Win9x gaming, DOSbox is unsupported and heavily trialanderror experimental (but rather speedy when it does work), VirtualBox does not support DirectX or anything more …

Engoo had a similar problem. I made lots of graphical effects for years (colored lighting, textured additive particles with fade, and coronas that fade under models and sprites), and still hadn't solved the 8bpp garbage bug in Windows 7 - WHICH IS THE OS I WAS DEVELOPING IT IN 🙁

Sound works for me in the latest compiled version. Noticed this with Doom 1.0 with 486DX (any) though.... Also the PCem process still remains after closing.

Die Hard Nakatomi Plaza was once a HL mod and a Duke TC before becoming a fully licensed Lithtech-based game. Nexuiz was never a mod/TC. It was standalone from the start Xmen and Bid for Power are not standalone games. Battlemech is still a mod...

Most games don't care what your system is. DOSBox works well for anything not so fussy and meets most cases of 'i just want to play this damn dos game on my damn pc'. You might like PCem for the other. Having the game's speed limited by MHz, cache, and video bus is a lot more consistent than a cycle …

You sound over-entitled. I wonder where your specialties and sources lie. Are you comparing with a vibra/awe or ESS card? Are you using 49716 for oplrate and mixer rate? And if that still 'sucks', are YOU writing a new oplemu and submitting a patch?

If you can, try the original release build (400) or even the demo (348) and don't apply the hex editing step. It looks much better in the older builds. I haven't tried it progressively patched to see what exact version the SGLdrv screws up though...

No because SGLDrv.dll (like the rest of the DLLs) are built on headers tied to the specific Core.dll and Engine.dll libraries. You can not mix and match drivers between versions or other UnrealEngine games.
