Engoo maybe but I haven't gotten the DOS build to work again, as it's segfaulting on startup now. But in Windows man does this crush a Core i5 especially this effect, it sends those modern cpus to hell!

Maybe we'/ll get less unneccessary slashes. Also video embed might be troublesome for the vogons users who use their retro rig to browse here. Kinda amazing that this phpBB2 board survived for as long as it has. It's the only phpbb2 place i've ever visited in the past 6 years.

wouldn't it be nice if you were using that crt shader with a picture of your old monitor and desk around that crt shader, displayed additively so the monitor blends in with the crt shader with little to none performance cost?

What if you factor in for not caring about the general midi interface without a plan for any daughterboard or external modules? I'm sure some are perfect choices.

OPL2 chips weren't MIDI and didn't have an internal instrument list. The instruments will always be provided through means of software. Most DOS games have their own OPL2 playback driver with their own instruments (for example DOOM's use of the DMX sound library uses the GENMIDI lmp to parse midi …

Q3A patch 1.30+ does demand more vram though because it precaches a LOAD of new crappy explosion textures you don't even normally see.

Huh. I'd sooner expect it to be a slowdown related to the Sound Blaster Live (involving its gameport). I had no Gravis Gamepad Pro issues when I used to use it on a much, MUCH slower computer with an AWE64, and I also used the Xperience CD drivers.
