You use the setup program. It works for me and I have sound.

Use something else like virtual PC. DOSBox is for DOS games. Diablo is not a DOS game. By the way Diablo can't work in DOSBox anyway even if you tried, as it requires the CD to play, and DOSBox can not emulate CD-ROM drives in their complete virtual device glory.

because it puts the lotion on the skin there was no cd installation feature in dosbox. i'm pretty sure with the effort you made into this topic you could've spent your time better on reading the README file or the 60 seconds guide to figure out how to mount and install a game.

For Quake there's a myriad of ports that definitely will work. DirectQ and Darkplaces are among the better ones. for software ports like Winquake you'll have to pass the -dibonly parameter to get it to cooperate with Geforce hardware nicely. I even work on a port myself, right now I just have it …

well for starters, fluidsynth doesn't lag 4 seconds behind and its reverb is nowhere near as obnoxious, and it is not as duct-taped as any timidity (which is highly overrated IMO)

Tried recording it in fraps? The shareware version wouldn't do so good being 30 seconds limited, though.
