The AWE64 Value will have freezing problems with some older games too. Duke Nukem II will hard freeze with digital sound enabled

One of the more famous games to be screwed by Creative's FM clone is Doom. You DO NOT WANT TO HEAR DOOM MUSIC ON THAT THING

Voodoos are only super effective in 486s when you're playing games with not alot of floating point vertex transforming going on. I think it'd be more effective to have a "Virtual OPL-3 Driver" which would be the best opl3 emulator ever, listening on port 338. From that point you would use any FM midi driver you'd want with whatever wacky timbres they have.

Be sure to use around 7000 fixed cycles or it'll go too unfairly fast. This is one game you can easily cheat on with speed provided you don't collide too much and spin out of controlNO!. The faster the computer, the faster the car 😀

Yeah, same. A Voodoo2 sorts it all out until 2002 which by then even a Geforce2MX will keep you on until 2005.

Subwar 2050 (DOS) had additive 3d headlights which for 1993/1994 IS PRETTY GOD DAMN IMPRESSIVE. It impresses me more than Archimedian Dynasty, the graphics are very Playstationish 🤣. Lookup tables are the coolest things ever! The earlier they were used, the more it fascinates me...
