Re: "Wizardry 7", also "System Shock"

Well, the good news is that System Shock works perfectly with DOSBox. Judging from what you wrote, you're probably doing something wrong with the mounts - a very common problem. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT isn't suitable for running DOS applications This means you didn't run the install in …

Re: Can't get DOSBox to run at all

Hmmm... Looks like DOSBox has a problem with your system. Here's some things you can try: - Change the "output" setting in dosbox.conf (see the file for examples) - If you have a joypad/joystick plugged in, remove it - Update your graphics card drivers Pls try these, and report again... I suspect it …

Re: Are there any women around here who use dosbox?

...says Mr. "I can guess your gender from the way you're posting" DosFreak (: Zup: that post made my day (; My guess would be: as DOS was used in a time when the IT business (and anything related) was not as "sexy" as today (in terms of number of jobs, salary, or general interest), and gaming was …

Re: Please Help Duke3d network problem dosbox

On the router which both pc's are connected to I have port forwarded 213 to the xp pc. ??? i presume you mean a router with several LAN ports. If both computers are connected to the LAN ports, you don't have to forward a port. Port forwarding is for forwarding incoming "outside" connections (the …

Re: Syndicate American revolt NETBIOS IPX HELP?

How many threads do you want to start for the topic? Screaming loud to get attention probably worked when you were a child, but now you're older, i guess. To answer your question: read the DOSBox readme. Read the FAQ's on this site. If you did that, and still can't get IPX support to work, you're …

Re: TIE Fighter Progressive Slowdown

As i already wrote, i'm pretty sure the problem is your setup, or your system. I guess you'll have to identify the source of the problem, but that can be a tedious proccess. It might be easier to reinstall windows, install _only_ graphics card drivers, and then try to run the game. You could create …

Re: DosBox 0.70 will not run Blake stone?

Franpa: that is still not correct. Being a bit bossy, eh? Changing a line in autoexec doesn't "setup" anything. It's just a help for the game's auto-detection. I know that i'm right, and you're wrong, no matter what you write. You should stop discussing the topic, before you make a complete fool out …

Re: Tomb Raider with DGVOODOO (not solved!)

in DOS
I've tried running TR with the dgVoodoo/VDMSound and Glidos/VDMSound combos, but had nothing but trouble. The game just didn't work. Now i'm using yhkwong's build with GLIDE support enabled, and TR runs perfectly fine. You have to use the Voodoo Rush executable, not the 3DFX one.

Re: DosBox 0.70 will not run Blake stone?

No, you are wrong. It's not a sound setup program, it's a program to change the "BLASTER" environment variable in AUTOEXEC.BAT. This is useless in DOSBox. Check your stuff before saying anyone's wrong. It doesn't matter where exactly the patcher app is located (drive/path). After starting, it will …

Re: DosBox 0.70 will not run Blake stone?

You can't blame MiniMax for being sarcastic, for a number of reasons: - It's quite logical that you have to use the patches inside DOSBox (old game, old patches - why should they work in XP?). Oh, and if you're using XP, you do not have a "DOS Prompt", sorry. It's called NTVDM, and it has not very …

Re: TIE Fighter Progressive Slowdown

SP2 won't do anything bad to your computer. If you have this kind of effects, then something's wrong with your system. I have installed SP2 on a lot of different systems, and never had troubles. It's being used in companies all over the globe. If there would be serious issues with SP2, we'd know it …

Re: TIE Fighter Progressive Slowdown

A strange problem, indeed... I don't think it is DOSBox related, though. I've played the game for hours, and didn't notice any slowdowns. Your problem could be caused by a _lot_ of stuff. Here's some of the things you could try: - Check you CPU/GPU temperature after playing a game (any game, …

Re: Crusader: No Remorse I cannot grab!

I played through the game three weeks ago, and it worked perfectly. The control scheme is crap, though - but that's not DOSBox' fault. (; Still a nice game, i especially enjoyed mowing down these stupid civilians, Hehehe... Try setting "priority=normal, normal" in dosbox.conf. I had trouble with the …
