not random if you know what the game is looking for. presumably you were able to see what the game was looking for. without that ability, the solution is one I could have never guessed. therefor, it appears random to me.

This game gives the message - 'error 10: cannot access dmm' when trying to start it I imagine this is a memory module, so I tried turning all upper memory on/off and starting with loadfix. None of these have helped. 0.74 / standard conf

I have attempted changing the sbtype to: sb1, sb2, sbpro, and sb16. It seems the issue is directly related to files that are not copied during the install.

i decided to use the version of xcopy that I found for madden on this game as well. that fixed it. I tend to wonder how many other games this old version of xcopy has screwed up for me.

SOLVED IT! It was the damn xcopy. The freedos version only seemed to recurse one directory. I went and got a copy of xcopy from ms-dos 5.0, re-ran the install, and it worked. I noticed during the install that it was writing files several folders deep this time, but was not doing it the first time …
