According to Phil’s Computer Lab, anything after 2006, would be better suited on Vista, as they would tend to use DX 10.

Thanks, that’s exactly what I meant: Not XP specific per se, but *XP period specific*: When I installed Quake 4, the read me states the *minimum* specification as P4, Windows XP, etc. That is the kind of game that I I’m looking for. But these lists are great, thank you!

Hello all, I am building a "retro" P4 Windows XP system, and I wanted to see if there is a list of Windows XP specific games out there. I know Quake IV is such game, but I need to expand on that one. Thanks!

For DOS, Vanta LT would be better. VBE 3.0 support and better performance. Image quality may vary, but I had good experience with reference OEM Vanta LT card . Thanks. Mine looks like this Also, for DOS, I only play at 640x480 (and lower) resolution, so I don't think VLB would be a big selling …

I have both, but I am not sure which has the best 2D picture for DOS, and best overall 3D performance. Then again, I am planning to play all my Win9X era games (Quake, Quake II, Hexen II, Unreal, Half-Life) in pixelated, non-3D mode, I like them chunky pixels. Thanks for your assistance and input!
