UPDATE: Since my last year's original post, I have started using MUNT and SoftMPU , emulating MT-32 sounds for this game. I am using a boot floppy diskette that has my Config.sys and Autoexec.bat copied from my C: drive to it And have added this line to my Autoexec.bat file: LH SOFTMPU.EXE /MPU:330 …

Update: I take it back! It's NOT the Layout.dll at all! You know how one can drag another icon/shortcut *above* the Programs item on the Start menu? If I remove that icon (in this case the default 'Windows Update' shortcut icon), then the 'Windows ME Millennium Edition' text would disappear, and …

The banner should be stored as a bitmap in Explorer.exe, did Explorer.exe get modified (likely unintentionally)? Can you open it with Resource Hacker or something to see if the banner is still there? No, I haven't done that, but it seems as soon as I merge the layout.dll's registry entry, I …

I understand that it is recommend for normal IDE drives, but what if I am using an Industrial grade CompactFlash card C:\ (as well as a non industrial grade one for my drive D:\? Do I *still* need to enable DMA for these CF cards? Thanks!

I just received the card today, cloned my IDE Hdd to CF170, and Windows 2000 Pro boots flawlessly! No more BSOD! This card is really nice, and it's FAST! Thank you so much for responding to my original post and helping me to get this card! HIGHLY Recommended!
