Re: Wargods in legacy pc problem

in Windows
yes, tested and working with other games. As seen using dxdiag some time ago in a previous win98 installation where I used directx 8 (and same problem with the game here), the primary card (an s3 virge dx/gx) is compatible until direct3d 7 (the s3 failed the direct3d 8 test) and the voodoo direct3d …

Wargods in legacy pc problem

in Windows
hello. I have a legacy pc with p200mmx, win98se, s3virge + voodoo2 with latest reference drivers (3.02.02) and directx 7.0a I have a problem running this game using voodoo2 for direct3d. There isn't a config menu where to tell the game to use voodoo2 as 3d card. When I go fullscreen it keeps using …

Re: Usb2 pci card and dos.

in DOS
That's a cool thread Keropi. I tried usbaspi5 and it says it cannot find hardware. I'll try with other sys files when I have time :D However I found a workaround. The system is a multiboot dos/windows98se so when I have to move big archives I start the pc using w98 (the usb interface works here) and …

Re: Usb2 pci card and dos.

in DOS
Lol it was simply because I wanted to use some usb pendrives of mine for data transfer in dos. It's annoying to use cd-rw everytime 😉

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

Mau1wurf1977 I suggest to try with other versions of the dos drivers. My sbpci128 didn't work with sbpci128 drivers (an error message like your audigy card, even after messing with ini file in the same way as you did). After trying a lot of drivers I discovered creative released my card with the …

Usb2 pci card and dos.

in DOS
I'm setting up a retropc. After tears and hard work, all seems to work quite well now except an internal pci card for usb2 support (it's a trust HU-3150 with VIA VT6202 chip). I tried some dos drivers like usbaspi.sys and Duse.exe, no good luck for now. These are the infos afaik. I'd write infos …

Re: Cdrom drive letter management in real dos mode.

in DOS
thanks for the help Gamecollector but still no luck. And I have 2 cdrom drives on the same ide channel. I'll simply switch the master/slave jumpers on the 2 drives. Reading that microsoft document, the only solution. thanks Davros

Cdrom drive letter management in real dos mode.

in DOS
I have a legacy pc with dos 6.2 and 2 cdrom drives. How can I change the cdrom that receives the first letter (d: in my example) from mscdex/cdrom driver? Or I have to physically remove the ribbon cable/switch the jumpers?

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

Lol I solved my problem with cdaudio. The cause was something I never thought about before...the mpc cable!!! I tried to change it with another I had from an old broken drive and voila, it worked. I can now hear audio tracks sound. The guilty cable seems intact but it did not work. weird. Ps: better …

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

sure. here are the drivers: http://easymamecab.mameworld.info/html/snddosdr.htm (the one that worked for me is the sbpci64.zip one) Unluckily I can't take a photo of the soundcard now but I have the original package and it's a sound blaster pci 128.

Re: Ensoniq / Creative AudioPCI

I was looking for help about my sound blaster pci 128 and I found this interesting thread: I succesfully enabled this card in a real dos environment on a legacy machine using "sbpci64.zip" drivers I found on the web, 2 other driver types (including those mentioned on the first post) didn't work, not …

Re: Problem with dosbox on Vista

I found another way: use ctrl-F1, watch where is \ key on your real keyboard, select the key in the dosbox virtual keyboard that is in the same position of your real \ key (it was the button near the 1 key in my pc) and bind that key to another key on the keyb (I used the right arrow key). save and …
