Is it perhaps possible to use the original controller dongle with this rewinded card ? 😅 And given the identical software/firmware, I suppose it all still refuses to cooperate with say QEMM memory manager etc ?

I plan to upgrade to an i9-9900K(S), as soon as the kids starts flocking to DDR5 and flooding the market with their old DDR4 rigs. It's the most powerful CPU that still has Win7 support. Nice to have the ability to go back. What motherboard do you plan on combining that with, for Windows 7 I mean ?

It's just market forces at play, no big deal... Same reason you seen things like model m keyboards put up for lots of money. Well, at least I can understand WHY* the model M is sought after, and lack of availability increases the prices.... 😆 (*: much less so with these FX8320 etc CPUs... weird ' …

Personally I view these as (hopefully) durable retro machines for now - planning on a decent WinXP box, perhaps also dual booting Win7. So, I was looking for some old used high mhz AMD FX CPUs (FX4350/4300 etc etc), when I noticed the 'insane' prices these old things sell for now.... I mean, they actually get SOLD for twice(!) what I paid for a brand spanking new in box, when they were still for normal sale in the online shops back …

I haven't made any final descion vs monitors, but... I have various options for switching video sources using just one (it has VGA DVI HDMI and DP switchable via OSD), + I could use add a HDMI switch on there, if it does not degrade the signal too much. (HDMI will have to be via DVI adapter) …
