Would that au30dos.com file perchance be located inside the CD image ? I actually managed to get my hands on a genuine PCI Aureal SQ2500 card(vortex2 AU8830A2), which I suspect is the one that uses that dos driver ?? Or could I use the dos drivers for the MX300 (when I find them) instead ? If not, …

Update: Ok, while almost giving up, I tried with the SCD-15/SCB-55 today, just for kicks - and that works perfectly! Hmm, I think, let's try that SCD-10/SCB-7 again... wow! Well, so I started testing the Roland card I got - but am getting odd(?) results with the daughtercards. The melody of my test file (Star Trail songs) sounds not at all as I expected. Hard to explain, but some instruments sound louder, I hear instruments I don't think I've heard before, it's off-key …

swaaye: no overclocking past 100mhz for me, don't think it's possible on a BH6(?) At least I've never seen any option for 133, even with the latest bios...? (your card/model is 1 year later/newer than mine) Anyway, a 5950 might be interesting. Though I wonder about that VESA support... ? $40 sure …

Well... I already GOT a PCI FX5200. But those are not that great when it comes to VESA compatibility... (60hz limited in particular games etc - check the threads on this site) So I was thinking more like Geforce2 or something. Not sure if Geforce3 is VESA 'ok' (?). Much easier finding an AGP …
