The big advantage of crts is the blacks, I got a couple of NOS IBM 17" screens and lcds cant get close to how black this thing is, its like comparing a blackboard to a tin of black paint.

I agree about the 2mb as its only useful in windows for running 1024x768 in 16 bit colour

Sorry about sounding like a broken record but what is the chipset of the VLB video card, 805, 928, etc? A good VLB video card is on my list to buy, depending on what price I would choose something like a cirrus logic 5434, ATI mach 64, ET4000 W32P, S3 928,

If I recall correctly, you set the multiplier at 2X and the AMD chip internally double clocks again, ie 2X 33mhz=66mhz + Internally 2X66mhz =133mhz regarding 3.3V vs 3.45V, only the very latest mainboards support 3.45V I think, interestingly my board which supports cyrix 5x86s only has 3.3V, 4V and …

Do they require the special drivers(ie creative package) to work in dos? The reason I ask I can initialise the cd-rom fine with a generic cd-rom driver/boot disk but it wont read discs, first drive was a 4X and the other is an 8X, or is it just age/build quality?

For all intents and purposed a SB32 is a awe32/64 because it has the EMU chip, as far as I know.
