Re: A few questions.

Regarding the 1st question , originally Blackthorne does NOT support joystick/gamepad support. However there used to be (can't verify now, I'm at work) a patch in http://www.patches-scrolls.de/ (a simple *.EXE file to replace the original) that would allow support for gravis gamepad (4 button …

Re: Warcraft Orcs & Humans CD version question

Your help is most welcome, Zebius! But I'm still wondering if there's any purpose other than "for your pure listening pleasure only" to that soundtrack... Maybe if other folks also inquired Blizzard support about this they would reply faster, as there isn't much available information about it …

Re: Warcraft Orcs & Humans CD version question

That would be great, KAN! 😀 If you happen to have the chance to test it on a real DOS machine, we could then be (almost?) sure that it's not a DOSBox CD emulation issue. From my side, all I can do is hope (eventually) that an answer from the Blizzard folks can clarify this.

Re: Warcraft Orcs & Humans CD version question

Still having that same doubt, franpa. But due to the lack of a proper database (like Mobygames) that lists the differences between DOS (and other operating systems) games (floppy/CD versions...), I'm really determined to find out what was the purpose of this soundtrack. Just received an automated …

Re: Warcraft Orcs & Humans CD version question

I guess the best way to verify that would be testing a Warcraft 1 CD with the audio tracks in a real DOS machine and try that out... Could even use my own CD (by making an image and adding some audio tracks manually  ), but I no longer have a real DOS machine. Any further ideas about …

Re: Warcraft Orcs & Humans CD version question

Thanks for that info, KAN! So it's actually true... I only wonder, if the audio tracks exist (at least in some of the CD versions), what was their purpose other than being used while playing the game? Is there any hint on your box, manual, panflet or readme, that might explain as to why the …

Re: Warcraft Orcs & Humans CD version question

Just found a game music database with some very intriguing information ... It says there's 2 digital audio soundtrack versions and 1 MIDI :surprised: Does anyone have any of the other 2 soundtracks? I wonder why my original CD doesn't feature DA soundtrack and instead has only MIDI? Was it some sort …

Re: How do I set a wi-fi connection in Vista?

Hi butterfly! Wireless networking can be tricky to set up sometimes, so one must try to understand the it's basic principles. Make sure of the following: - Your SSID is the same on the PC and wireless router. - The encryption type must also be the same (WEP or WPA, the 2nd is more secure) on both …

That's probably true, avatar_58! However, as technology leaps forward, the hardware/software requirements also keep climbing up the hill to ridiculous new levels... And for instance, in your case you still have slight drops, so there's still room for improvement, and the industry will follow that …

Re: How to compress ZMBV movies?

Youtube has the 10 minutes and 100MB limitation (per video). Google has that same limitation if you use the Web-Based Uploader. For larger files, one can use the Desktop Uploader. I can also confirm that the movies captured by DOSBox (ZMBV) are accepted in YouTube. Check this video (89 MB original …

Re: Dawn Patrol

schaetzle73, As bugs_bugger and I have said, the speed of your CPU is what's keeping you from using DOSBox to it's fullest potential, and the only way around that is getting a faster CPU. As for trying it in real DOS, there's 2 things to consider: #1 - Is the game compatible with your video card ( …
