I see there is no cache in this machine so it's kinda meh... I had a Hyundai 386DX25 that was cache-less as well, didn't find much value to it tbh , a normal DX40+128kb is a much better option.

although I have a LAPC-I for more than 20 years now and the service manual for about 2~3 I had no idea there were more roms other than the firmware and samples... never had to look at the service manual and I hope I never have to! 😁 🤣

it is my understanding that the article is about that specific SD adapter that supports 8bit transfers so said adapter can be used with a lo-tech xt-cf adapter , not with the old "xt ide" controllers we are talking about... says it on the article's title: ISA CompactFlash Adapter and SD Cards

I have no idea... does 8bit transfer mode mean the "xt ide" one or some really old (perhaps the first?) CF protocol to transfer data? I kinda think it's the later and it won't work with an xt interface at all...

from my understadning you need to use an old hdd that supports this "ide" standard I also have an "ide" 8bit card but luckily I have a suitable 40MB HDD. Never tried them but I read that both are not really IDE... maybe someone knows of a converter though, interested it this as well!

thanks for the info on the battery situation, I will remove D2 as well :) I also tested the two newer 4SA2 BIOSes and can confirm large HDDs do not work with them. Also noticed that both iob1 and 0730 consume more cpu usage when the ps/2 mouse is moving - seems something changed in IRQ handling? …

it means the dsp code is from a clone - it will work but no idea if the clone is 100% or 99% correct I think they are working to either dump the original or provide something better than the clone code, we'll just have to wait

Today I tested suntac's new cms gals, they work fine with both CT1336 and CT1336A controllers. I even replaced the GAL on my CT1336 card 🤣 Excellent work suntac!
