The CT2230 was also my SB16 of choice for many years - now I "downgraded" to SB PRO2 in my builds up to pentium1 and this works very good for me , no clicking but authentic retro-style noisy output 🤣

or remove SIPP slots and solder SIMM slots there is also the possibility of just inserting the simm slots in the sipp pins, it will work just fine
