Seems like a LOT of trouble... :) I am sure you don't know it yet, but there is mTCP http://www.brutman.com/mTCP/ , you can easily run the ftp-server in the PC witn the RTL8139 card and transfer files with awesome speed, since I've heard about it (recently) I found it the BEST way by far to transfer …

Are you sure that under load it will drop towards -5 ? +12/+5v lines are normal on all psus

yeah the -5v line has been optional in the ATX standard for almost 7-8 years now.... I have a LAPC-I Mau1wurf1977 , that's why I am searching this matter so much... if I didn't have it then I'd just use a random good atx psu and get over it 😁

I see, thanks for the replies guys :) I have triple-checked and tested a 1999 250W ATX psu for now that delivers -5.02v and seems it's quality built with japanese caps and everything... all the newer ones are -4.5 with the exception of a 2002 model that delivers -4.82 (have put it aside for now) I …

thanks 5u3 , basically I should re-phrase my question to: is -4.5v fine for a LAPC-I ? 🤣 also I took a look in the LAPC-I manual, it states that the card needs: +5v / 550mA -5v / 50mA

I have looked in the diag/utils stuff on the sdk packs but sadly none of these did the "reset" I am looking for... apparently it's not enough to start a glide app to get rid of the moving lines, the only thing that gets rid of them is opening the display properties... strange....

mTCP all the way (thanks to megatron-uk that first wrote about it here! 😀 ) On my 5x86/133mhz mTCP is 3-4 times faster than wfw3.11 with tcp/ip-32bit. As a sidenote the author of FlashFXP has tweaked it to fully work with mTCP 's ftpserver 😊
