ide-usb adapters? please elaborate 😀 A network card crossed my mind but immediately rejected the idea , because my PS1/pro only has 3 ISA slots, 1 goes to VGA and 2 for sound 🙁

nah, no it is knowledge I gather while inspecting the amibay forums... 😀 I do not plan to get another amiga in the near future too, I manage well enough without one 😀

it should work fine, it was suggested by a couple of good guys in amibay as an easy way to replace the A3640 caps 😀

I want sometime to try a well known amiga solution: an ide->pcmcia adapter as a slave device... the main idea would be to take it to the new-pc, use a media reader to fill it up and put it back in... power on the old pc and have the files available at the 2nd HDD...

amigo, try to replace the bad caps too, regardless if they are to blame or not... bad caps are bad news... you can replace them easily, just pull slowly the old ones so their legs stay soldered on the mobo while they come out of the cap "body"... eventually you will end up having the cap body …

Allright let's hear how you deal with it! Surely getting files bigger than a floppy disk is a bummer on 386/486 pc's that have no easy networking or usb , what ways do you use? Obviously one can take the hdd and put it in a usb enclosure , but this can be tedious... Or burning cd-roms is an option …

it does not fix scrolling issues, AFAIK it fixes pallete/garbage-gfx ones...

yeah, I had the suspicion that vesafix was useless in this situation, but tested anyways 😀 Will try lowering speeds, but I am concerned that the voodoo3 behaves like some other vga chips that cannot produce smooth scrolling in these games (like tseng ones for example)
