here are some pics of the ATI VGA STEREO/FX card... there is a jumper in the middle to enable/disable the sound portion of the card, and in the backplate the vga-out port, the joystick port in the middle that needs an adaptor , and the sound in/out port in the right that needs ANOTHER adaptor ... …

ah, the SW20-PC. I got mine when it was brand new, and worked fine until pentiumII mobos, AFAIK some of it's DSP addresses are used in newer mobos... I think he means he has 2 monitors: one at his 2D card and one at the Q3d one, but he gets no video on the Q3d when he opens a glide game, right?

On the vga matter , I don't like the Tseng cards because of their bugs in games like Apogee's ones... all 3 I have tested have a strange scrolling bug... I am a fan of Cirus chips and S3 cards, personally speaking I never found a bug using them 😀

IMHO, the sata/pata drives are not to blame, are you sure you have installed the sata drivers BEFORE you made the image? Windows don't care from what disk you boot them from (it's all hard disks to them) but they DO care if they want to load a sata driver and cannot find it...

Perhaps you need to try to and get a CM-32L or a CM-64L , they are both MT32 compatible, but have extra sfx (like the internal ISA LAPC-I) that are used in some games (for ex. Ultima Underwold 1 , you can hear footsteps)
