to be honest neither the external switch or a dual input monitor are acceptable solutions for me 🤣 , that's why I asked for improvement on existing passthrough cabling/switching relays... Thanks for the suggestions though 😁

I can bet you that this card in the end will be a paperweight to you. Not only it is suspiciously looking like a telecoms card but it will not even function as a sound card. edit: I just saw the original auction too, this won't be of any use to your XT machine....

I have looked in the usb-dos matter in the past. I have successfully used a usb stick to transfer files with a usb2 pci card on a p1mmx system. It was a nice achievement but other than that it was dog slow. My advice is not to bother with USB stuff in DOS. Just get a ps2 keyboard.

Just checked my rev.B1 card. All 3 points that you mention are connected. So this is normal. When audio dies, it might worth to check for an overheating component , the LM1877 is an audio amplifier, maybe it just craps out after a while...?

yeah I feel the same about onboard audio too... in my current i7 setup I use a pci-e X-FI from auzentech, before that a normal pci x-fi and even before a live! ... never stuck to onboard except from office use.
