thanks for the info vlask! Palcals's new card looks like it was used in some video production/show work... assuming the 4 golden connectors are video-out ones... reminds me of the amiga genlock stuff... with the zipram/gals galore and all 🤣

IIRC my Yamaha SW20-PC is 82C929A based, the 9x drivers are VxD based... they work but on anything better than a 486 based machine it's a hit and miss... you may get it working on a p1 machine or you might get echoes, distortion and all kinds of strange sounds...

@retro games 100: use FlashFXP for windows, it is maybe the best ftp client for them... alternatively get FilleZilla which is free...

maybe that ISA slot is different because it is shared with the PCI one? It could be just stock being used and used the sharing as an excuse for the strange slot...

personally I never bothered with anything other than the onboard IDE on later 486 and pentium machines... if it supports a DMA mode then I'm happy...

You mean MS-DOS? How do you plan to use that with a FAT32 partition? MS-DOS can only use FAT16, with a partition limit of 2 GB. I am using my "very own" ripped standalone DOS from win98SE that has native FAT32 support. Already served me several years in 2/3/486 machines without probs. I need to …

a thought occurred on the crystal usage DK described: what if the card uses crystals depending on user selection? for example 2 for vga and 3 for ega mode...? either that or the extra crystals are for the 9pin output that is for some custom use or something...
