a thought occurred on the crystal usage DK described: what if the card uses crystals depending on user selection? for example 2 for vga and 3 for ega mode...? either that or the extra crystals are for the 9pin output that is for some custom use or something...

had a 8MB agp model on my pII/400 and later pIII/500 machine, only for 2D ofcourse... was using a voodoo2 (and later a sli v2 setup) to play games , the trio3D/2x was not that bad for 2D stuff back then

also the 24kb vga(?) card?? what's up with that? CGA was 16kb and EGA 64kb, 24kb could be of an ANSI termninal but it is just a bogus number I bet 🤣

I change my vote for Riva128(zx) either pci or agp... awesome and compatible vga cards for dos with VBE3.0 support... haven't found a problematic title yet on the vga/ega games I tried...

are you sure this is a joystick port and not a serial port? if it is a joystick port then you can connect and atari-style 9pin joystick and all it's compatible joysticks for systems like the Sega master system , genesis/megadrive , amiga computers joysticks, atari computers joysticks... basically …

the z68 was designed for sandybridge cpus, so getting one for the 2600K is a no-brainer 😁 just get some good ram with it, I have 4x4gb Corsair vengeance modules and they work great, cheaper ram might give you probs so be warned

Z68 doesn't even have native PCI support, they use an "external companion bridge-chip" to offer it in the boards that have pci slots... ide/fdc have been ditched as well, your only bet is to get a mobo with pci slots and use there some ide/fdc controller... I have a 2600K/P8Z68V combo ... I miss fdc …

All my recent failures where WD drives: a 1TB one, a 320gb 2.5" one, a 640gb 2.5" one and finally a 1.5TB one. All my seagates are running fine, a couple of them have 2-3 bad sectors each but that's normal... It's all luck IMHO

you want get any support for your downloaded game here.... but I'll just give you some clues and do whatever you want: bin/cue is a cd-rom image file , load it in daemon tools (so windows "loads" this virtual cdrom image) and then mount the virtual cdrom inside dosbox to access the image's files. …
