did you try it in another motherboard? if yes and still have the same symptoms, then the V5 is a goner... bad pixels and lockups indicate a dead VGA. but first try another mobo. IIRC V5 is very power-hungry!

S3 or Cirus Logic cards are always the best compatible choise IMHO. Next to that I have the voodoo3 (pci or agp) that never gave me troubles in pure DOS mode...

yep, typical now-working scenario... I remember back then I changed cd drives every 8-10months... they just stopped reading disks.

so I was lucky OR the logitech mouse is very good. I have tried this method with 3 different boards, I must have swapped all lines several times. As I said, the mouse still works great! From all the mobo manuals I have seen only some ECS one did document the pins, that where completelly wrong btw... …

Alone in the Dark 1 supports sfx via covox/disney ... damn and I searched before posting again, I thought the old thread was deleted...

yes, I have the ports, a saturn pad, AND a converter for a normal pc gamepad, it goes to the lan-looking port of the card... so have u tried yours ?
