Only going from memory I know when C2D first came out it was slower than the P4 for single core processing. I know I didn't upgrade until subsequent releases of the C2D when they got the frequency up.

I'm playing Farcry maxed out (including water reflections) and its entirely playable on my Radeon 9800pro 128MB. 1024x768. Giants is nothing on a 9800 Pro , it runs fully playable at 1920x1080 fully maxed out.

I'm not counting things you can tweak, just simply games that came out with support for the OS. I was thinking personally Farcry might be a good cut off for Win98, even though it came out after XP it was close enough that many people may have run it on 98.

I've got a DVD-ROM drive on my IBM 5170. It of course can't read DVDs its just what came in the external SCSI enclosure and I use it for CD-ROMS which in itself would be a bit off.

Theres no notable scaling at any resolution. It scores the same in the benchmark regardless of SLI or single or resolution. I also don't think its sync because 3dMark doesn't come close to 60 FPS while Quake III will routinely go up to 90+ FPS. However no FPS increase in SLI. So 640x480, 800x600, or …

Well I'm doing some benchmarking again and seeing there are some differences with 2 enabled but it still doesn't seem to scale at all the way Phil's videos do. I'll check more and report back when I have more data.
