Re: End of an Era

I like the following so far but I'm still open to suggestions arguments for the perfect gaming test suite. I think we need to stick to out of the box experience and maxed out graphics at 1024x768 - 1600x1200. Win98 : Farcry, Morrowind (More to be added) What do you guys think about Arx Fatalis for …

End of an Era

I was just doing some thinking about what games mark the end of the power requirement for an OS. For example if you were building a Win98 machine, what would be the one game you would use to say, "If it can run this, it can run anything I would want to on this platform". I guess I'm asking for the …

Re: On "time-accuracy," and whether it's worth it.

Personally I had more fun with the first upgrade cycle that happened after all the latest game releases. I would go back and replay all the new games when I got a new video card because back in the day even the latest video card really couldn't handle the latest games flawlessly. So it was most …

Re: NVidia GTX 1080ti on Win XP

I currently am using a 780ti which is fine. I just wanted the better performance when running the Windows 10 boot. If I were to put both cards in there do you have a method for it automatically determining which card to use per OS? Hardware or otherwise? I don't want to use a switchbox if I can …

NVidia GTX 1080ti on Win XP

Hey, just checking in to see if anyone has had any experience with this. I'm wondering if I add my GTX 1080ti to the last version of XP drivers that Nvidia released if I will be able to get it to run on XP. I know it won't be optimal but do you think it would run decently enough with the supported …

Re: Voodoo 2 SLI weirdness.

Theres no notable scaling at any resolution. It scores the same in the benchmark regardless of SLI or single or resolution. I also don't think its sync because 3dMark doesn't come close to 60 FPS while Quake III will routinely go up to 90+ FPS. However no FPS increase in SLI. So 640x480, 800x600, or …

Re: Voodoo 2 SLI weirdness.

Yeah the difference between SLI and a single card is like 3FPS, so almost within the margin for error. I'm not sure what is going on with this but its going to take more investigation. I just ran quake with only the standard VGA drivers installed for the 9800Pro and got the same results. The problem …

Re: Voodoo 2 SLI weirdness.

MobRules I will try to test as many of those suggestions as I can however I can only select Voodoo and 1024x768 in Quake 3 when both cards are installed. The performance seems to fit that of a single voodoo card not my 9800 running a wrapper and this is on Win98SE, I've never installed a wrapper on …
