Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

First: Of course the first 4 checkboxes [_] are ment to be radiobuttons (.). The fallback option is also a good idea. (As I already mentioned: At the moment I'm just thinking of different options etc., nothing of this has been implemented yet.) The convert option will be placed on the "Text editor" …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

I think I have found a clean solution for this problem: At the moment I'm using the editor registered for opening "txt" files for opening any text file from DFR (because often there is no editor registered for opening "conf" files and so Windows would use Notepad also the user has registered some …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi skatz, to be honest, I do not like the idea of silently changing files very much. And if it's turned off by default I think the option is mostly useless: The ScummVM.ini needs to be changed to CRLF exactly on time ever. So converting it with nearly any text editor (except notepad) is much easier …

Re: Integrating documentation

I know replacementdocs and also know this site is useful some time. But exactly for collectors reasons I'll not link to this or to similar sites from D-Fend Reloaded. But if you want to, you can add it to the game search engines list in your DFR installation manually: Select "Edit links" from the " …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi skatz, very good ideas, I have added most of your requests to my todo for 0.6.0. There is only one thing where I don't understand what I should do: 2. This config file has unix-like line sperator LF (not DOS-inherited CRLF) and opened by Notepad it is displayed as one very long line. I can not …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi skatz, 1.+2.: Confirmed and fixed. 3.: Good idea, already implemented in my internal development build. 4.: I know this problems from other applications (Thunderbird with MinimizeToTray for example) but haven't seen this in D-Fend Reloaded yet. There is not much I can do because the hint window …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi Lord_Rius and skatz, I've just fixed both bugs. I have declared this two issues to be the last ones fixed for version 0.5.0. I will build and upload the official 0.5.0 packages within the next hours. Thank you again to all of you for testing and translating D-Fend Reloaded. I think 0.5.0 will be …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi all, first of all: There are no new language strings since the string complete beta 2 version. All translations for 0.5.0 are complete, there is nothing to do at the moment. Second: Requests from Lord_Rius: 1.) Good idea, but 0.5.0 is feature frozen and will be released very soon. I do not want …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi wd, I have also thought of something like this in the past, but than decided to stay with the NSIS default mode: Even beginners know how normal installers work (welcome page, license page, install type (user dir mode, prg dir or portable mode), components to install, folder, progress, finish page …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Some status update: Selecting install directory in installer I'm using NSIS with the default settings for the installation directory. (For those who know NSIS a bit better: With the correct "\" at the end of the default installation directory string.) The installer will always display the chosen …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Translation Only, a not translated error message. It remain in english. If you tell me which message this is, perhaps I can fix it. (If the translation is already included to the language file and I just forgot the link it to the message box I could also fix it for 0.5.0.) Completely automatic …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi sst, thank you for fine tuning the French translation. The "Sound.Misc.=" ini key is a copy&paste error made by me. I've renamed it (in the program and in all language files) to "Sound.Misc.TandyRate=". Because the program and all language files used the same (wrong) key name also everything was …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

I've been at bit fasten than I have thought. So here you can find the release candiate of version 0.5.0: http://dfendreloaded.sourceforge.net/BetaDownload.html If no new bugs will be reported the only changes from this version to the final version will be the removal of the "release candidate" …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi skatz, I've just fixed the playing damaged sound files bug. Additionally the play sound dialog will also open for ogg files now. But on my system the Delphi media player component seems to be not capable of playing ogg files. Because all reported bugs are fixed now, I will made a release candiate …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Some little status update: Importing damaged archive files Fixed wrong error message. Previewer not showing captured videos By debugging the "Update" context menu function I found out D-Fend Reloaded is finding the captured video file and adding it to the list. Also the capture info label is turned …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi wd, thank you, that's want I ment with technical reason. Ok, I will use DirectX as default value. Of course nobody likes writing documentation but: If I would have found more information about WinDIB/DirectX before maybe I would have chosen another default value from the begining on. And some …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi wd, I haven't found any useful information on SDL default values on dosbox.com (google with "windib site:http://www.dosbox.com"), but the SDL 1.2.10 release notes say: The "windib" video driver is the default now, to prevent problems with certain laptops, 64-bit Windows, and Windows Vista. The …

Re: D-Fend Reloaded (new frontend)

Hi wd, because of this: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=17103 and this: http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=18465 Later I found: http://www.libsdl.org/release/changes-1.2.html (see the first item in "Windows Notes" in "SDL 1.2.10 Release Notes") So for me it looks like WinDIB is the best. In …
