one possibility for some optimization is using the gpu to do the scaling, for instance in my pandora build I render with no scaling and use the 2d hw scaler to fill the screen. This helps get a bit more speed, but doesnt seem to be the complete answer to the speed up claims.

yeah legally its the same situation, but I think those are the situations GPL intended for. Each of those cases there is significant value added with the purchase where with these emulator rebrandings the porter may have put in a couple days/weeks with work that many other could also do.

As a developer that has ported many software for open source devices (including dosbox) I think its total garbage to try to sell software that wasnt written yourself to begin with. The fmopl replacement's

Looks like this was slipped in 0.73 and i missed it, but anyway I have some simple questions about it. So i can decide if its would worth that effort to use it with some other apps that use fmopl. How much faster over fmopl? Is the API compatible? Which files? (i saw dbopl and opl)
