I'm going to try this test: I'll do a clean install of Windows 98 SE on to a CF device, using a slot 1 mobo. Then, I'll take that CF, and stick it on to the 386 mobo. I'll set the 386 to max speed, and then run software like SiSoft Sandra and Everest. Hopefully, that will tell me a bit more about …

You might have already posted this but do you have a sound card installed in this system that works ok at the 25MHz bus speed? My SB Pro would just crackle andf hiss at higher bus speeds. I've just tested this. I set the mobo bus speed to 25 MHz, with the 100 MHz osci, and so the CPU runs at 50 MHz …
