I sent a PM to a Vogons member, but it seems to have got stuck inside my Messages Outbox for quite some time. This has happened before. Any assistance gratefully received. Thank you.

PS - I really want to go down the SCSI route, but having a cheap ISA IDE card wouldn't hurt, just in case - for backup purposes and experiments, etc, etc. EDIT: Thanks Qbix, sorry about that.

Very helpful responses everybody, thanks very much. Please can someone take a look at this ebay item = 170265094938 The blurb says it will support HDD, floppy, serial ... but I can't see where the HDD and floppy plug in to. Am I being really stupid? Thanks for any help!!!

Thanks very much for your help guys!!! So, to recap I need: A card that allows me to use 1 SCSI HDD + 1 SCSI CD-ROM + 1 floppy disk drive. An example is an Adaptec ISA card. Newbie question! :blush: On an old 486 mobo, you are generously given a keyboard socket. But where do the other devices go, such as serial mouse, HDD, floppy disk and CD-ROM drive? Presumably I need cards to plug in to either the ISA or VLB or PCI slots. Can someone please tell me which cards I need …

Personally speaking, I would try this - uninstall drivers for both voodoo cards, then physically remove both cards from your computer. Then re-add the voodoo cards to your computer one at a time. The reason I suggest this is because I remember my display properties "locking up" when I had …

If you do this (worldwide) search on ebay - (286,386,486) motherboard And then sort by price (descending), one thing you notice is that Canadians seem to want a lot of money for their old tat. 😉

I think we need to create a list of games which have specific CPU/speed requirements. Eg: Wing Commander I, Ultima VI, etc! I tested Ultima VI on a PII, and it ran *much* too fast.
