Re: Sin crashing on start

in Windows
Renaming Quake 2 exe? But I'm trying to run Sin? Quake 2 already works with opengl. I only deleted the gl.dll for testing purposes. It seems that the Steam version may be somewhat modified for newer cards. I don't see any gl extension options in the control panel and I do have the latest drivers ( …

Re: Sin crashing on start

in Windows
I have 1.11 with win7 x64 and a gtx 680 with 327.23 drivers. I can play RAGE, quake2, quake3, doom3, and half life fine. Did they pull Sin off steam because I don't see it? Only episodes. Sin on Steam came with Sin Episodes years ago. That's how I got it.... I tried Sin 1.11 on my work desktop …

Re: Sin crashing on start

Sin does support native OpenGL. Is there an OpenGL32.dll in the game folder? Delete it if there is. Also make sure it's not set specifically for 3DFX miniGL in the video settings. The only generic dll I see is ref_gl.dll. If I remove that then selecting default opengl will always switch back to …

Sin crashing with NVIDIA OpenGL

in Windows
The game I was trying was Sin. I tried nglide and that seems to work the way I expected; I left v-sync on in game, off in nglide, and I didn't notice a stutter, using same refresh rate/resolution. I always set my display to 60hz for v-sync no matter what game. The only problem is that it does seem …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I'm having trouble getting a good vsync in Sin with dgvoodoo2. Whether I try to enable in game, or force it with dgvoodoo, I can't get a fully syncd display. The tearing will be gone but there will be stuttering instead, suggesting that it's still not in sync. I tried limiting the framerate to 60, …

Re: Does Shadow Warrior not have analog Forward/Backward movement?

in DOS
Have you tried downloading the shareware version of Shadow Warrior and tried setting up to see if it works in Dosbox? Have you tried copying over the [Controls] section from DN3D or Blood and overwrite that section in SW.CFG? I'm not sure this will work, but if the suggestion above works, you can …

Re: DosBox fully bindable Joystick Patch

If there's no cap on buttons then why cap axes and hats? I could use a dualshock 3 with both left and right stick because the rest of the controller was mapped to buttons, no analog triggers or hat. I could map up to 17 buttons with no issues (with button wrap off), even though dosbox was only …

Re: Does Shadow Warrior not have analog Forward/Backward movement?

in DOS
I'm using a dualshock 3 to setup movement. It has worked fine in other games like Duke Nukem, Blood, Doom, Descent, Descent 2, etc.. Actually Descent works really well with 4 axis, although I could use an additional 2. Blood works well (also build engine) and it even allows for full 4 axis mapping. …
