Re: Does Shadow Warrior not have analog Forward/Backward movement?

in DOS
It's an old game, control expectations weren't really standardized. I think most people probably played this game on Keyboard controls when it came out. Right but it doesn't make sense that they would include side to side movement but not forward/backward movement. And then including Joystick look …

Does Shadow Warrior not have analog Forward/Backward movement?

in DOS
So since Shadow Warrior is free on Steam I decided to set up my controls before playing but ran into a few problems. I don't understand. You can map 4 axes in the game: x, y, rudder, and throttle but can only map 3 actions to those axes; they are: analog_strafe, analog_moving, and analog_turning. …

Is there a way to set soundeffect/music volume of GUS before game launch?

in DOS
I'm trying to play MK2 with gravis ultrasound but the music is severly overpowering the sound effects. I have the sound effect volume at max and still can't really hear them. Is there some sort of program I can run before the game to turn down the music? I also have problems in other games like Doom …

Re: Mod1+keyA=KeyZ works, why not KeyZ=Mod1+KeyA?

Ok it seems that after I use the mapper, I can't use any of dosbox's hotkey functions like ctrl+f9,10,f11, alt+enter. Once I remove the mapper then I can use them again. I did get back in the mapper with -startmapper though. All I did was remap my buttons to keys along with the mod+joybutton for …

Re: Mod1+keyA=KeyZ works, why not KeyZ=Mod1+KeyA?

Hm now I have another problem. This has happened a couple times now: after I mess with the mapper and save it, I can no longer access the keymapping menu with ctrl+f1. I didn't remap either of those keys so I don't know why it would just stop working all the sudden. I have to delete the map to get …

Mod1+keyA=KeyZ works, why not KeyZ=Mod1+KeyA?

I'm sure many of you know that dos games frequently use shortcut keys that are combinations of keys like alt+f2, alt+f3 for quick save or quick load. As far as I can tell there's no way to map a single joystick button or key to a combination of keys. The only thing that's available are 3 mod keys …

Re: Munt Reloaded - Development

so is the windows driver on par with all the other implementations of mt32 emulation? I think it would be easiest to just set it in windows and select the appropriate mt32 option in game (assuming that would work). You wouldn't need special builds of dosbox for that, correct? How is updating of the …

Re: Munt Reloaded - Development

Ok what I did was modify the .ini in C:\Windows to point to C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64. I then placed the roms in that folder and that got it to work. The .ini had still retained my original target of the mt32emu folder on my D:\ drive but obviously that did not work.

Re: Munt Reloaded - Development

There's a console? I tried running it via command line but didn't get anything. I do notice something briefly appearing on the screen when I execute the program that is in a cmd prompt but it disappears. For some reason, it keeps wanting me to locate mt32_PCM.rom which I have in the folder but then …

Re: Munt Reloaded - Development

I'm having trouble with mt32emu-qt. I try to play a midi, select the mt32 rom that comes up (in folder), but nothing plays. I've also installed the driver and selected mt32 from my midi selection list but when I play a file in Media Player it gives me an error "can't open synth". I've also made sure …

Re: Duke nukem 3d vesa mode in dosbox glitchy

Well as I mentioned nolfb did seem to eliminate the problem although I didn't use it extensively, as the problem always seemed to happen immediately anyway. As far as the gog version goes, I don't know how it would be different or not. I actually just created a default .74 cfg file and replaced the …
