It actually was started by Bill Kaysing, who worked for Rocketdyne between 1956 to 1963. He was head of technical publications although he had no scientific or engineering training whatsoever. I think I ran this card for a time in a 350 Mhz Pentium II W98 system. I just wanted to be able to run GLQuake properly. The model was ELSA Gladiac 920 IIRC. Highly recommended card.

Death Race 2000 of course. In fact, it was probably this movie that inspired all those games. (Just like Rollerball inspired a bunch of futuristic sports/arena games like Speedball)

Balance of Power is quite famous apparently but I never played it. Lots and lots of little 'gamelets' were produced in that era/environment. Most are forgettable. This reminds me of Destruction Derby 2 which has a crazy thrash metal soundtrack IIRC. People playing old games without the original CDs are often missing out on some interesting music

I have a P4C800-E Deluxe currently in storage. It's a backup for the ABIT IC7-G currently in use on my video capture box. 3.4 GHz P4, 4 GB RAM, Windows 2000 Server, Matrox Marvel G450 TV card, and RocketRaid 454 with 8x400 GB IDE hard drives. Yes it's so retro it doesn't use any SATA drives.

The problem was specifically with the memory/PCI connectors. I think they're built to withstand only a certain number of insertions, after which they start to flake out. The Teac FD505 is very useful. I was lucky to get two unused 'new old stock' units as office cast-offs a few years ago. One is in use and the other in storage.
