Final update, I've added a section for adding debug support to DOSBox. Not too useful for most people, but I thought it was worth documenting.

Another update on this page, I've now documented adding support for mounting OGG files in CUE images. Attached is a shell file that you can run in msys (sh BuildDOSBox.sh) that will do all the hard work for you. It's very basic and doesn't do any checks, so make sure you have a backup of your mingw/ …

Thanks for everyones help. I managed to get this working, I just needed to read truth's page a bit better. First off, library versions don't matter. Static libraries don't work, when building SDL_sound, everything seems alright except for two functions that are missing. checking for vorbis_info_init …

Don't think I can help with this one, just note, that there is a difference between throughput and access times. But, if you are running iSCSI on your NAS, then you probably thought of that. 😀 Maybe something like IOMeter can help pinpoint the problem?

Thanks bloodbat, had a look through the changelog for SVN and didn't find anything. Maybe qbix can chime in. I'm just trying to build DOSBox from SVN with all the features of the last official build.

Version numbers didn't make a difference, and not compiling libogg, libvorbis, and sdl_sound statically causes DOSBox configure to not pick up SDL_Sound.

Thanks truth, I found your page earlier. I tried your SDL_Sound patch as well as using shared libraries instead of static, but I get the same end result. Just saw that your versions are different, maybe thats what's tripping me up. I'll be back.............

Try this, exit is a command that needs to run in dosbox. Copy code to clipboard 1 dosbox.exe -noconsole -c "mount T 'D:\My Folder1\My Folder2'" -c "T:" -c "myapp.exe -parameter1 file1.ex1 file2.ex2" -c "exit"

Just wanted to say a quick thanks, I saw there was a Makefile in the src folder which I edited it like you suggested, but this caused the compile to fail, I'll just keep trying and hopefully get somewhere.

A little update, I copied over libSDL_net.dll.a to the /mingw/lib and ran configure again and it picked up SDL_net, but then dosbox.exe needs sdl_net.dll.

Yesterday, I managed to compile DOSBox using dynamic libraries. Today, I thought I would push my luck and try and compile DOSBox with static libraries. I compiled the SDL libraries with ./configure --disable-shared -prefix=/mingw I then compiled the CVS version of DOSBox, and it seems to work. Next …

Both of those detect my Voodoo2. I ran the DirectX graphics test and they work, so it's almost like it's only the Glide side of things that aren't working.

Unfortunately I only have two 512mb DIMMS. I did try pulling one of them out to see if that made a difference but it didn't. Also tried to use DirectX7a instead of DX9 but still had the same problem.

Fresh install of Windows 98 SE Updated system.ini with MaxPhysPage=1FFFF Installed DirectX 9c Installed motherboard drivers Installed ATI X800 drivers Installed Athlon compatible Voodoo 2 drivers. G-Police still freezes, as well as NFS2SE.

It was already set to MaxPhysPage=40000. As soon as I change it to either 20000 or 1FFFF then G-Police and the display control panel started having page faults.

Still no luck, I installed G-Police. It works if I use the X800, but if I choose the Voodoo then it just freezes the computer. Same with NFS2SE, software mode is alright, as soon as I try the 3dfx exe the computer freezes.

I installed the Athlon compatible driver and was able to boot to the desktop without freezing. I then ran WizMark and it completed. I ran demo0 from the diagnostic kit and my computer froze again.
