Re: Jazz 16 and DOOM engine

CTMMSYS.SYS ? Haven't seen that one. I tried both jazz16.sys and pros.sys. Are these all just the same driver renamed for different branding? On my card there is a chip labeled jazz16, the the fcc id was something like ixw-jazz16s.

Jazz 16 and DOOM engine

I have an old 486 that has had a Jazz 16 (AKA PAS16) in it for years. All my DOS games had working sound. I recently turned on this machine to play DOOM, and had no sound. All my other games work, every one, except DOOM, and anything DOOM-engine based, like Hexen. Quake works, but of course Quake is …

Re: Audigy SB0090 Win98 DOS driver?

Well, I gave up on that. With the WDM drivers, Win 9x games played fine. Some DOS apps ran with the sound, some didn't, and some stuttered, like how DOSBOX does when you give it more cycles than your computer can handle. The VxD drivers worked, but I never got DOS-under-windows emulation working …

Re: Audigy SB0090 Win98 DOS driver?

I also found SB16.inf, and installed it, and found instructions online for enabling a 'SB16Emulation' registry setting, which the installer is supposed to set but the windows-installed inf files do not. I still couldn't get SB16 emulation to work without a yellow exclamation mark. Thanks for the …

Audigy SB0090 Win98 DOS driver?

I was using an ISA SB16 in my super socket 7 system, but after seeing the Phil's Computer Lab video on sound cards for SS7, I went and got an Audigy on ebay. The exact model is SB0090. Searching Creative's website for drivers, the best VXD driver I could find in an update for users who already …

Re: Phantom 'A' drive

I found an additional option in the BIOS: Report no FDD for Win 95. (Which is somehow necessary, with floppy controller disabled, and both floppy options set to none.) Now in Windows 98 is shows up as 'Removable disk A'. But it no longer has the long pause if you click on it, it just says its not …

Phantom 'A' drive

I don't have a floppy drive in my PC. Both 'A' and 'B' are set to 'None' in my BIOS. I have the floppy controller disabled. Windows 98SE keeps saying "Drive A is using a compatibility mode filesystem." Sometimes when I try to install something, it will try to go to the 'A' drive, and I have to sit …

Re: Trouble locating the REAL Sil3512 Win98 Driver (Silicon Image site is dead, Lattice site useless)

The UPDFLASG utility said 'FAILED RETRY Y/N' , but the computer was frozen, so I couldn't attempt again. When rebooting, where the option rom would usually run the computer hangs. I can't find an option to disable the option Rom on this bios. Put the card in my socket AM3 computer. Blocks the BIOS …

Re: Trouble locating the REAL Sil3512 Win98 Driver (Silicon Image site is dead, Lattice site useless)

Thanks: These are labeled SiI 0680/0680A. Sure it will work with a Sil 3512? The wayback version of siliconimage.com/support assign the Sil 2512 an ID of '29' in the drop box. Tweek the URL you gave me and I got the 3512 drivers!: I found https://web.archive.org/web/20120502172712/http://www. …
