Re: SB 2.0 CT1350 CMS chips dumped

in Milliways
I sucessfully upgraded my early CT1350 some time ago and everything since then works like charm. 😁 But I really wished someone could figure out a solution for the "A" models, nevertheless. These models are by far more available.

Re: Links in Windows 3.1 Guide broken

in DOSBox General
Thank you. Please never mind. My posts weren't well worded either, I'm afraid. I was just worried about the actuality of the guide in respect of the S3 emulation. That's why I thought it would be a good idea to ask about the right drivers, too. The question about Virge was meant more as a rhetorical …

Re: IDE Command protocol

Me, too. Personally, I'd also make sure good WD1003 compatibility is assured. http://geekscomputer.blogspot.de/2008/07/ata-commands-set.html http://www.vcfed.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-41445.html Edit: Also have a look at an older release of PCE . Re: Sound Blaster Emulator for Dos?

in Milliways
If you integrated this into FreeDOS, it would no longer be plain DOS - it would be DOS plus an emulator, which must run in V86 mode. With DOS, everything had low-level access, so there's no reason to integrate stuff into the kernel anyway. Keep it separate; one could call it a DOS-to-DOS virtual …

Re: Links in Windows 3.1 Guide broken

in DOSBox General
Can someone lock this topic please? We're getting off topic right now. Excuse ? This was about broken links, which I thought drivers were a part of. So I was initally asking if the older S3 drivers were still valid (for DOSBox); which chickenpee was so nice to give me/us an answer for. Plus, he …

Re: DOSBox BAT file

in DOSBox General
(Just to be clear - This forum is about the DOSBox emulator, not the Windows DOS box. 😀 ) Is it really a *.bat file you're looking for ? - Windows can also handle *.cmd (WinNT's *.bat), *.lnk (shortcuts), *.vbs (VB scripts) and *.pif files ("shortcuts" for DOS programs).

Re: Links in Windows 3.1 Guide broken

but I could not get Paintbrush to work on it (it would not draw anything), whereas 1.41 worked fine. Wait, wasn't there recently a similar thread about Virge 325 emulation and Win 3.1 Paintbrush in PCem forums ? 8-O I checked that on my real Virge 325 and didn't have had the problem described (was …
