Update: Today morning, removed the heatsink and the CPU and then analyzed the socket. Moved the latch a few times back and forth to view the underlying binding pads. Possible, but I guess the socket will be OK. Have done such things myself, so do not feel bad :) BTW, CPU/cooler replacement should be cheap. I tried to sell a similar mobo with similiar processor for a while. Nobody wanted the working mobo with CPU, cooler and RAM, even for a price of only 3 euros …

Yes. Tried installing the intel.ttf file from the cd. However, the issue still persists. Sometimes the installer hangs at 1% (when installing intel.ttf).

I had used the same version 1.1 from the popular abandonware site. The issue here is that the installer always freezes at 74%. Tried with compatibility mode and the result was same. Facing this issue on my other win 10 laptop as well.

Thank you for your responses. It seems the issue is likely with the Cmedia 8738 sound card. On removing the audio drivers, the game runs without any error albeit with no music/sound. Then tried using a different sound card (1938s Solo-1) with WDM drivers and the game loaded as well with music/sound. …

Hello Joseph_Joestar! So the understanding is that SB live VXD drivers wont work with mixed mode CDs unless using a physical CDROM cable. In the case of using Daemon tools, is there any other way apart from WDM drivers for SB live? (WDM for SB live seem to be underrated).
