We did a lottery with presents here in the company that i work and the colleague who got my name will give me an Amiga 1200 for present next week.

I finished some days before Sam and Max Hit the Road on Mac and PC. Yesterday i played Doom 2 on Mac where i am on Level 18 just like the PC version. I also played Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo on pc. Today i played Prisoner of Ice on Mac and Carmageddon 1 also on Mac.

Yeah, my quick diagnosis after listening with headphones is that you're right. They sound digital, not like actual digital sound effects, but like the PCM sampled sound effects do on the CM series (and the Sound Canvases/other GM2 and GS devices). Like Leisure Suit Larry 5, the CM FX notes are …

Thank you for the info provided. They are very useful. Two more questions: 1. Can you explain to me what is the all notes off bug? Has to do with the sound ? I have never used softmpu. My PC is a Cyrix 120+ with pcmidi card installed. 2. Any experience with Roland RA-50 and Macintosh computers?

I just found that i have extra sound effects on Hook (sea, bird sounds) on the following screen with the Roland CM64. These sounds don't exist with the Roland MT32.

Some days before i completed for the first time ever Heart of China. Both on Mac and PC. Mac version has very nice fonts, lot better than dos version. But dos version has great music with Roland MT32. Today i played Doom 2 on PC with Roland Sound Canvas SC55. Then i played Simon the Sorcerer 2 …

The night before yesterday i played Blackthorne on my Mac and my PC. After the first three levels i started on both machines Heart of China. Yesterday night i continued playing Heart of China. Mac versions has better fonts. PC version has better music with the Roland MT32.

How are you getting your MIDI out, if I may ask? I used the OMS (open music system) program to connect the canvas with the Mac. Then i added the canvas at the music settings of quicktime. With this option, some games use the canvas for music and the quality is better. Some examples are: Doom 2 …
