It looks like a 430VX mobo, one of -the- oldest ATX mobo's around. The VX chipset can only cope with the lowest density SDRAM, hence why a single sided 64MB stick won't work properly. The mobo looks like it's made by Intel. Interesting that it has no SIMM slots whatsoever

EOD or not, they are SDRAM... where did you get confused ? EDO is not SDRAM actually, it's a different type of memory. (EDO is asynchronous memory as opposed to SDRAM, which is synchronous) Perhaps instead of SDRAM you ment DIMM, as opposed to SIMM? If you try to boot with 1 EDO DIMM and 1 SDRAM …

Are you sure the memory modules aren't EDO DIMM's? The memory chips look kinda 'fat' compared to the old fashioned 32meg SDRAM DIMM's I'm used to seeing.
