Re: "rebooting" dosbox

You can boot floppy (or hd) images in DOSBox with the BOOT command. Booter games don't require "rebooting", just booting from a floppy. And to get out you can just close DOSBox (and restart it if you want to continue). Any well-made emulator has a reset or reboot option in one of its menus. Just …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

This should be merged with the main branch of DosBox. Why should I have to have 10 different copies of DosBox residing on my computer, each one carrying a feature that SHOULD be in the main branch, but apparently the official developers decided not to put in?

Re: "rebooting" dosbox

really ? Which games do you know ? I don't know them by name, but I remember I used to have an actual physical old IBM PC (and I do mean the literal PC, as in the vintage series of IBM computers PC, AT, and XT, not just the generic word PC referring to any Intel x86 based computer), that I bought …

Re: "rebooting" dosbox

Why has it not been implemented yet? I know that normally the developers excuse themselves when they leave out a feature by saying "this is just an emulator for dos games". However many dos games require rebooting. So that excuse of "it's just a game emulator" doesn't fly when it comes to leaving …

Some of your video modes are incorrect.

Here's a list of all the video modes that DOS is supposed to support (found on webpage http://stanislavs.org/helppc/int_10-0.html ). AL = 00 40x25 B/W text (CGA,EGA,MCGA,VGA) = 01 40x25 16 color text (CGA,EGA,MCGA,VGA) = 02 80x25 16 shades of gray text (CGA,EGA,MCGA,VGA) = 03 80x25 16 color text ( …

Need to add MHz simulation

For some games and other programs, the timing is not based on a realtime clock timing, but rather on the CPU's clock oscillator frequency. Games and other software that run at the wrong CPU speed will be too fast or to slow. Other programs that use this timing, use it to determine the length of time …

How do I swap floppies in DosBox

I have version 0.74 (the latest) of DosBox. The imgmount command works for all image types, but mounting multiple images so they can be swapped with ctrl+f4 only works with CD ISOs, not floppy images. I am trying to install something from disk images that has multiple disks, but they are multiple …

Re: Keyboard bug in dosbox

I already tried replacing the MCIR 109 Keyboard driver with the generic HID Keyboard Driver. It does NOT work (my OS is a bit different and therefore the solution is different, as my exact OS is: 64 bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium, and I did NOT have a kbd106.dll file at all). Same problem, …

Re: Keyboard bug in dosbox

DON'T ABANDON ME! PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED AS THE DRIVER KEEPS REINSTALLING ITSELF! PLEASE ADMIN, DON'T JUST LEAVE THIS THREAD WITHOUT FIRST COMPLETELY SOLVING THE PROBLEM! IT TRIED UNINSTALLING THE DRIVER ONLY TO HAVE WINDOWS REINSTALL IT AFTER BOOTUP! PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED! I NEED HELP!!!!!

Re: Keyboard bug in dosbox

Update: I uninstalled the driver in Task Manager called MCIR 109 Keyboard. That worked GREAT as a fix to said keyboard problem. But it REINSTALLED upon computer reboot. PLEASE HELP! Is there a registry edit I can do to make it NOT auto-re-install the keyboard's sucky driver?

Re: Keyboard bug in dosbox

I read it, and my keyboard is a US keyboard, not a Japanese keyboard. If the problem was buggy Japanese keyboard drivers, I'd have to have a Japanese keyboard in the first place. My keyboard is fully US, and so I shouldn't have a Japanese driver in the first place. No Japanese driver means no buggy …

Keyboard bug in dosbox

I have a bug to report. First off, I'm using a US keyboard, so it's not a region problem. The keys that don't seem to work are: ` \ right-shift Later though I noticed it isn't specific to dosbox, as CCS64 (a commodore 64 emu) also has the exact same problem. I am looking at several possibilities. …
