Did you configure the DNS server? Try opening up a command prompt and typing "ping www.google.com" If it can't resolve the name, there's your problem.

It's not too bad, actually. The only reason I know is that when I was younger, I had this hand-me-down Pentium 120 laptop with no sound card, but I could still listen to tracker music in Inertia Player. It was quiet, but not terrible.

I changed back to an ISA video card instead of the VLB one that was in there, and now SQ4 works properly. X-Wing still acts up, but I'm about to fire it up on my 200MMX.

Nope... no joy. Oh well, everything else works, I'll try X-Wing on my 200MMX box, with the CMI8330 and DB50XG. (Well, XR385 😜)

Say, is X-Wing designed for the MT-32 anyway? Reckon it would sound better on my DB50XG? (I'm guessing it would run better on my 200MMX box anyway) This MPU card was bought purely for MT-32 games...

Do you reckon the SB Live is one of those Dell OEM ones with the custom drivers and the audio-out pinouts all messed around? I have an Audigy 2ZS that came from a Dell box, it doesn't work properly with normal speakers or Creative's drivers. What a lemon... The GX110 certainly has a really nice case …

SquallStrife, this maybe a mundane question, but...are you connecting the MPU-IPC-T breakout box to the MPU-IPC-T ISA card or did you connect it directly to your SB16's MIDI/Game Port? It wouldn't fit, the breakout box has a 25pin connector! ;) I changed the BLASTER variable to contain P300 instead …

Malik is using an MPU-IPC-T in his 486 box (or was in December 2010)... I'm reasonably confident this is a software issue... I've noticed some other glitchy behaviour in Space Quest 4 too... occasional long pauses in the middle of dialogue, missing sound effects. Might be because I have 64MB of RAM …

Like I said, the mobo died acid death, so if I don't do this mod, the case would just go to the tip. My "in use" Amiga is an A1200HD, complete with still-working 1084S monitor and 4MB Fast-RAM. It's sex. 😁

Hah, I wish! 😜 I have an M919, and apart from the whole "no cache" bizzo I quite like it. In fact, I have an Amiga 2000 case here (the mobo died a battery acid death), I was thinking about modding in a PC motherboard, and the M919 was a candidate. I will watch this thread with interest.
