Defaults should be ok, but upscaling is better done by video players than by resizing the video and encoding it. You'll save space and encoding time. 😀

Doesn't the Hauppauge HD-PVR have component input? IIRC It's still pretty expensive but maybe that would work.

The Half-Life SGL->OpenGL wrapper does not support lightmaps? I could have sworn it was much better quality back in the day, the hazard course instructor is b&w now too.

I'll see if I can get a few PCX2 shots and benchmarks, I remember using the SGL miniport with Half-Life and it worked great even at 1024x768. No chance it'll work in the Steam era but I still have my 1.1.0.8 CD :D I doubt you can compare the fps with the others though, right now I have a 600MHz …

Older games like Keen and Wolf3d use FM for music, if you're an OPL snob a clone will bug you immensely.

Someone here made a list of sound cards which listed their chipsets and if the card had real OPL2/3 hardware. I believe some Crystal chipsets have real OPL hardware as well, it depends on the chipset version and card maker.

From my experience, I would avoid the SB16 and even the entire Sound Blaster line all together.** You cannot unhear the stuck notes and that shiny new daughterboard will be useless until you find another card. ** Cookie to anyone who is thinking what I'm thinking

+1 That it's pretty terrible, a 2MB sound font is much better but still far from perfect. 2MB Is all I can test, all my SIMMs are MIA and I'm just playing with the card for shits n' giggles. 😀 [edit] NINJA!

You can custom make a cable to use daughterboards on small or low profile cards, just be 1000% sure everything lines up and it will work fine. Mounting it on the other hand...
