Re: Hexx

Hmmmm, We need some way of forcing the user to RTFM. Aha! Include in the readme that no help will be given to the user unless they read the included documentation in DosBox?

Re: frozen blood .. help please!

If your running VDMSound without the updates then your likely running into the CLI problem. I was thinking that you had disabled Sound when using GliDOS which would mean that the CLI problem wouldn't take effect....but it seems that you are not disabling sound. Okay. Let's just forget about GLidos. …

Re: Solution to running Krondor with VDMSound

I'm sure Vlad will agree with me when I say that DosBox is increasingly becoming the better solution in most cases. M$'s NTVDM is a sorry piece of programming compared to DosBox and sadly VDMSound has to lay atop it like a slim pretty young woman atop a fat slob. Hey, that's a pretty good …

Re: frozen blood .. help please!

Hmmm, GF4 in the main PC and an ATI Rage 128 in the other..... Not the best options for VESA... When you tried Blood and had it configured for VESA...were you using any resolutions above 640X480? Re: EMS problem

Nope, your SOL when you encounter that error under NT. Either use Connectix Virtual PC or Vmware to emulate a PC and play the game. Likely with very inferior results to running it under pure DOS. or Dual-boot with DOS and run it there.

IIRC, there was an article posted a couple of days ago about another spyware incident with Opera. Something to do with banner ads becoming more specific to the users surfing? I'll see if I can find it....

Re: Amazing win2k3 dos support

The EMS problem is more and more frequent of late as mobo manufacturers eat up more and more memory ranges. You've likely experienced that. Either search the forums for "EMS" or wait till I dig up the link and post it. So far the only fix is to disable the hardware that is eating up that memory.

Re: Amazing win2k3 dos support

Hmmm, but I was curious, are there games that now work with Win2.003k but (still) do not work with VDMSound, or are there games taht now work with VDSMound but did not work under XP? Just trying to get a feeling of the kind of changes they made. I am particularly "afraid" of improvements that may …
