Re: Windows 9x

You can install Virtual PC 2007 on Windows 7. I remember doing so when the first beta of VPC for 7 came out. Can't remember what I had to do to get it to install tho. I think the main issue was that I installed VPC 2007 AFTER I had already installed VPC for Windows 7 so I had to hack around that. If …

Re: Windows 9x

Windows 9x runs great in Virtual PC 2007 (Don't know how well it runs in Virtual PC for 7). Windows 9x also runs great in Vmware 6.x (Haven't tried 9x in 7.x yet). The above 2 are the best solutions for running 9x in virtualization software. As for DOSBox: Windows 95 runs fine in DOSBox 0.73 and CVS …

Re: Getting Battlespire to run

If the speech and music are RedBook Audio then you'll need a CUE/BIN image of your physical CD. The physical CD also needs to have the RedBook Audio tracks. So stick the CD in your computer and try to play them with Windows Media Player. If it works then create a CUE/BIN and amount it in DOSBox. …

Re: control F9 should not exit dosbox!!!

I was able to download the XP drivers from Nvidia just fine using IE 8. (Had to do so for this damn …

Re: :: DOSBox & Turbo Pascal 7 ::

Windows doesn't have an autoexec. DOSBox doesn't use autoexec.bat. The autoexec.bat you see in Z:\ is just a copy of the lines that you input into the [autoexec] section of DOSBox.conf. You cannot edit the DOSBox autoexec.bat, only thing you can do is input the lines you want into the [autoexec] …

Re: Game Config Files

in DOS
This has been brought up a million times before. What you suggest requires a central database to store the config files, some kind of hash system to hash the game files so you are using the proper config for a certain version of the game, etc etc etc etc. The simplest way to accomplish the above is …

Re: carmageddon 2 material file problem

in DOS
Thread closed. Above paragraph is barely readable. Also we don't support abandonware. Ask wherever you download the game for help. If you are using Windows and you downloaded a DOSBox tarball then you need to download the proper ver of DOSBox which is the WIN32 or WINDOWS ver NOT the linux ver.

Re: Game Config Files

You also have the issue of personal preference. Some people like VGA for their old game, some want EGA. Some like PC Speaker, some want Soundblaster, etc etc and on and on. Who determines which is "better"? The user who wants to play the game that's who.
