0.72 is surely way more compatible and a lot faster on x86, so get some real pc and be happy.

It is important to test ERRORLEVEL in descending order for something like this because lower levels test TRUE compared to higher levels. Is this a bug in dosbox?

Already got some framework set up for testing? Invalid values for a 2-bit value might either be ignored or masked (&3) which might not be hard to test.

Export the dosbox.conf file for both, and compare them. If in doubt check what happens if you use those settings without a frontend at all.

There should be a VfW installer on the cd, which is automatically executed during the ds2 installation. Don't know what can go wrong at that point though.
