Yeh might just crash instead of showing bluescreens. emm386 requires the frame parameter (device emm386.exe FRAME=E000 or something like that).

Try putting a breakpoint at CBind * CreateAxisBind(Bitu axis,bool positive) { (the first if) and see what the values for axis and emulated_axes are before it crashes. Or use a bunch of LOG_MSGs (well two) in that function.

Depends on the game. Iirc. mystic towers is a realmode game, so cycles=auto will stick to 3000 fixed cycles (as displayed at the top of the window).

There is also a ini file with the path settings and these are all good working paths. Did you double-check that all paths are good with respect to the dosbox mounting?

Well we can't do much more than guess. Especially as it's an already-installed program, which in several cases leads to path problems. Do you know where the license file is stored? Does it have any flags set?

Try loadfix before starting the program, and try reinstalling the prog into a new directory (create something like c:\test, then mount that in dosbox, mount the installation files as d: or something).

Setting der Version with "Set Ver" has no effect. How do you determine that? I.E. Share.exe, used for Win32s cannot start. That doesn't run under plain dosbox anyways, but don't remember it was needed for win32s. Besides that, win32s isn't fully supported. Oh and be sure to use dosbox 0.70 or later …

Which commands exactly report errors? Most executables of msdos distributions (!=5.0).

The point is that this information is not really useful. Exact specification means something like "i type >mount c d:\xyz< then i move to directory zzz and execute vwx (see the screenshot right before hitting enter)" etc. etc. In general: install everything WITHIN dosbox. The program, the addon. …

cdrom maybe, floppy very unlikely, real HD/local path never. What are you trying to do? In general copying files using the -fat mounted drives (before (!) booting them) works fine.

bps,spc,hpc,cyl bps=bypes per sector (512 always) spc=sectors per cylinder (hm shouldn't this be sph?) hpc=heads per cylinder cyl=total cylinders So 512,63,16,2080 should be the correct one. Or wait for dosbox 0.71 and screw the -size parameter completely.

CPU_Core_Dyn_X86_Run() is reached. But does it already hang then? Can you single-step from that point on?
