The X-Fi iso should be on various torrent sites! Found quite a few: http://thepiratebay.org/search/soundblaster/0/7/0 Also do these cards support SPDIF? Because the SBPCI.INI file has a line for that. And the DOS driver also tells me the card is in analogue mode when it boots up.

Totally OT but today I checked the BIOS on my Phenom 2 machine and it allowed me to set the multi to 0.5 🤣 I had the Phenom II running at 100 MHz and booted into DOS. Sysmark, 3D Bench, Speedsys all ran just fine. Doom also ran fine. But I couldn't get the AudioPCI to work 🙁

ISA cards I'm covered LOL AWE64 Gold with SPDIF I don't think it gets any better when it comes to Speech and Sound Effects. And I have two ISA MPU401AT compatible cards and a stack of Roland MIDI modules... But the PCI option interests me for another project / video I could see doing down the track …

Sounds good... I wonder if it also uses wavetable to "emulate" FM 🤣 The AudioPCI is fantastic with late DOS Games (as per list above). It just struggles with the older games.

Just buy a MT-32 and use a USB midi cable. It's such a simple solution with DOSBox. MT-32 are quite cheap as well...

Hmm so I installed W98SE. All good. Loaded Intel chipset driver (for 440BX), Nvidia Video driver (for TNT2) and Creative driver (for PCI128 which is a AudioPCI). Everything works I can hear sound. But there is not even a Creative control panel or any software allowing me to change anything at all …

Hmm the more I test the more games I find that crash with Sound Blaster sound. General Midi however works fine. Space Quest 4 and 5 sound really good!
