Fair enough - but what holds back software - that is games - from forcing system requirements to double or quadruple on regular basis. It seemed that up until the 2000's software/game developers constantly pushing the envelope were as much a factor for the *need* for a faster system as was tech …

The pins can be hard to see clearly without good lighting and decent magnification. But If you paid very little for the board or can't return it - flea market - I'd give it a shot.

A friend has the same problem and will be attempting to bend pins back into position. Damage appears to be about the same and looks fixable if none of the pins are broken. There are quite a number of helpful how-to videos on Youtube - here's one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhOYEQ65a94

I can't offer any tricks to ferret out a good motherboard at a flea market besides what you've done, but you have ram so now all you need is a processor, cooler, PSU and a monitor so you can just test each out to see which ones POST. Good hunting.

Well msconfig is now working on W95a. I intended to install Common Controls first, then test msconfig, but I accidentally installed MSINFO95 first. msconfig did not run after MSINFO95 was installed/re-booted, but after installing Common Controls and re-booting, it did. So I'm not sure if it was …

haha okay... Extracted the exe and it's full of the upgrades that'll probably make it run on 'a'. I hope so. Will test out this last batch of stuff when back from the holiday... I'll start with the light common controls from the other day first. Will report back later.
