I cannot get this game to recognize any controls: mouse, joystick, or keyboard. I do use the setup, which is in French. I comprehend the French used in the menu. Nothing works once I start the game. Only get up to the race car driver guy. I do notice a new cfg file is written. Any ideas?

Yes, you cannot delete any sound.dat so prevelant in old games, because that is where the game draws the music and sound from. As I mentioned before, there is no config. file for the game.

I tried doing this: Before meeting the thug, via the toolbar menu ingame, I turned sound off. The game proceeded nicely. I then turn sound on, and after opening a door, the game hangs again. Sure would be nice to have sound, since there is a sound.dat file.

Hi, I'm a dork. I tried it out in Dosbox 0.58, and it worked great. Something has happened to cause the latest version of Dosbox incompatable with this game.

Trying different versions downloaded from various websites, all give me the same error message about a missing .dat file. But these all work when running from XP. The compatability list states that this game is ok. Any ideas? I am using release 0.60
