Re: How do I run Screamer 2 on a modern system?

in DOS
I dunno, I run it on WinXP with dgVoodoo and VDMSound and it's fine, though does require some tinkering. And if I recall correctly, whenever you open Setup it drops back to Windows to moan it wants to connect to web or something, and it's rare you can get back into the Setup program (hence why I …

Re: Sega Rally Championship

Bear in mind Sega Rally is broken at the moment; rival cars move slowly an unless you input the cheat on the car select screen (hold view and shift 1-2-3-4 for a whoosh sound) then the accelarator won't work! But the next version fixes all those things whenever it is ready...

Re: Sega Rally Championship

Not sure about this, me and my mate only played Sega Rally Championship split screen... Although as the arcade version is being emulated soon with some sort of network mode you might not want to bother with the PC version...!

Re: Getting audio in Screamer Rally

in DOS
Erm not sure, not had to set it up for a while. I meant it was more painful as installing the 3Dfx and normal patches has to be done from the command line window. My Screamer2 is the White Label budget version that has the patches in a sub-folder on the CD. I can have another look/reinstall go soon …

Re: Games that require MSCDEX exe driver...

in DOS
World Rally Fever is fixed in new CVS compile of DOSBox thanks to this update: * MSCDEX sets word on stack to ADAD if it DADA on entry. Thank you to QBix for looking at the problem, and wd for support too!

Re: Panzer Dragoon

Heh cool, doing this also helps in some other old Sega games. Another tip (at least for me) to make Daytona USA or Sega Rally Championship not go fast/slow/fast/slow is to load DxDiag then start the game... thought that might be because the games don't like HyperThreading (I have Pentium4).

Re: Panzer Dragoon

Not entirely sure what to suggest, I have the original ye olde Sega PC version and it works fine for me... Does the game install okay? You could try turning acceleration of DirectDraw off in DXDiag I suppose.

Re: Incoming on XP and GeForce 7600 does not start

It runs fine on my Nvidia Gainward GS7800+ (one with the 7900 chip on and 512MB RAM) using latest non-beta drivers. To get speed right, turn on "frame scaling" in the games video options inside the game. As for it not working, um... well I also have Win98/ME compatibility on the shortcut (running XP …

Re: Need for Speed II SE running perfect on Windows XP!

For me it's a case of installing the game, then copying the nfs2sea.exe executable from the game CD-ROM (right-click Open the CD drive in My Computer) to the NFS2 installed game folder then running that with either Zeckensack's Glide wrapper or dgVoodoo installed (I simply put dgVoodooSetup.exe, …
