Are we sure the ground plane isn't necessary? The path lengths for the rotator board will have, perhaps, half the length of those from the unshielded prototype shown above and it was choking at low frequencies. I think you'd have to alter the holes on the PCB for it to work with a cable end. I could be wrong, but going off my pictorial memory, I think the width of those two cable pinchers/clamps are too wide.

Has anyone been able to find the connectors for this Voodoo2 SLI board which aren't in the $6/each range? The connector noted previously, 9134-4500PL, which is sold out, cost $6 USD each. Otherwise, cheapest I can find is 803-87-034-10-001101 , at $3.5 each, but they aren't ideal. Thanks!

Maybe a 2-PCB approach is better for this application. Blind vias would demand use of PCBWay and the prices observed for PCBWay was prohibitive.

Why is this much more involved than the SXL2 interposer? Seems like the worst case would have you increasing the PCB footprint, up to, but not larger than, the SXL2 interposer.

I think needing BGA soldering would loose 99% of the customer base. I think 180 degrees would be a good starting point.

You can take Vcc and GND locations from any 386 pinout datasheet, e.g. Intel's http://datasheets.chipdb.org/Intel/x86/386/da … ts/23163011.pdf However, all other pins, even those which are N/C should be rotated accordingly. This is because other chips, like Cyrix, use these N/C pins.

Does anyone possess, know where to obtain, or is willing to create PGA132 rotator sockets? This way, if you go to plug in your 386 upgrade board and there's components in the way, you can rotate it 90, 180, or 270 degrees with this rotator interposer board.
